This house reminded me of being in the Wisconsin Dells. It was so vintage yet modern at the same time. The owner was very accessible and accommodating. It's an amazing party house. My guests were so impressed. We stayed during a snowy, icy weekend, so that posed a challenge with the long country lane, but it worked out. Secluded and special. Very romantic and elegant. Clean and beautiful. The Buck stove fireplace was perfect! Would LOVE to rent this house in the summertime. An unforgettable weekend.

This is truly a paradise for the most private of parties. Our home cannot even be found on MapQuest. They have the location wrong and so far have not fixed it! Lock the gate behind you and no one will enter unless you want them too! This home cannot be seen by the road and nobody knows you are here, but me! This is my private home and now that I am an empty nester I thought I would like to share it with others, so you can experience the beauty of nature and the unique architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright's teachings. Once you arrive you will not want to leave! Every day is a new day here with something different to see. I promise you, you won't be disappointed, you may not even want to leave!
Main Floor: dining - seats 8, kitchen - seats 6 at breakfast bar, walk-in pantry, sunken great room, laundry room, 2 bedrooms, a King lakeside and a smaller bedroom with a bunkbed - double on bottom and single on top, 1 1/2 bath, the large bathroom has sunken tub with hand held shower head the half bath is off of the dining area.
Second Floor: 3 bedrooms - 2 masters (1 king and 1 queen) the 3rd also a queen. 2 bathrooms 1 with 2 seated shower the other with large 2 person seated shower, double sink, and Jacuzzi tub.
There are so many things to offer one that stays here. It's large enough for a family gathering and personal enough for a private getaway!
Fully equipped kitchen, linens, beach towels, gas grill, 2 kayaks, and two pedal boats. Peacefulness, views, and nature, along with all the above!
* You will enjoy swimming (heated concrete pool 15x30), kayaking, pedal boating, fishing until your heart is content, hiking, barbecuing, or just relaxing and taking in all the views.
* Don't forget on a cool evening you can sit around the bonfire down at what we call the park area!
* Wineries are close by! Don't want to drive back, we will see if we can arrange a DD for you!
* Restaurants, well there are just a few, that we will recommend, otherwise it's off to St. Louis for dinner!
* Golf courses are very near, several of them!
* Hunters-(pheasant, clay-skeet, deer) horseback riders, we have activities for you within 5 miles of this property.
Call to inquire about larger parties over 11 and corporate gatherings for the day/weekend. $15 additional charge per person per day over 11 guests.
Decorations for the holidays are available upon request.
Luxury buses and other motor homes are welcome and easily accommodated.

This was our 2nd time coming here. Our family had a blast again. The new paddle boats were a hit. The kids caught a ton of fish and enjoyed throwing them back. We cooked all our meals this time outside, love the gas kitchen. Well be back again next year.

My husband and I got married here about two months ago and it was perfect. Our guests were just blown away by the property. Donna was wonderful and extremely accommodating. We hope to go back soon for a getaway!

This was a beautiful stay over Thanksgiving for our family gathering! Very peaceful time. A great thing about the property is it is only one hour away from St. Louis Airport, so it made it easy for relatives flying in and out. The house itself is marvelous, with plenty of room, and it is very bright for a home of this style. We got a lot of use out of the fireplace stove and the lake. It also lent itself to great times for the outdoorsy types in our family, with the large lake area and privacy, and our fishing relatives. The kids loved the paddle boats and kayaks. We will be coming back, and thank you Donna for being a great owner, and answering all my questions! The Cosman Family from Iowa.
Best Family Vacation Ever!

Our family vacations every year in different cities and different settings and they've all been great but after twelve years we've decided this is it!!! We hope to return here every year for our vacation. We have fourteen in our family ( eight adults and six children). We all had the best time. We fished (caught enough for fish fry), canoed, and the pool was awesome. Its so beautiful and private that we had many outdoor parties with music, Bocce Ball, Horseshoes, swimming, and fishing. We made a few fun trips into St Louis but our best time was here. Thanks Donna for a wonderful time. See you next year.

Donna, hands down, is the best home owner to work with. We use VRBO every year for our family vacations. She went above and beyond in making certain our stay was amazing. The vacation rental was spotless! The home is decorated beautifully and is very spacious. There were 9 of us staying at The Long House and there was enough space for all of us; we were never on top of one another unless we wanted to be. We had a family reunion over the 4th of July and the home is more than perfect for entertaining large crowds. We live in Alaska, so on most days, we were in the pool or out in the lake. We made some amazing memories here. Donna and The Long House will always hold a special place in our hearts. Our rule is to never visit the same place twice! Donna and her home are THAT amazing so we're breaking that rule. We'll see you again. Thanks for everything!

This woman has made one of hardest weekends for me a lot nicer. I am relocating to Bloomington from Arizona for work for at least a year, my two beautiful children 19 and 21 and the love of my life must stay in Az because of his job and the kids because of college. Donna made it possible for me and my husband to enjoy each others company and we can laugh, cry and or both in the privacy of her beautiful home. I can't thank you enough. My angel:)))
